“Blooming” – An Exhibition by Halyna Kukhar
An exhibition of artworks by Halyna Kukhar, a lecturer at the Department of Design at the Korolya Danyla University, is currently on view at our gallery. The exhibition features a series of paintings created in acrylic, enhanced with graphic elements drawn using acrylic markers. These works reveal the artist’s inner emotional resistance to the reality brought about by the war. The dark backgrounds of most compositions become a space against which a dynamic, almost explosive diversity of floral colours unfolds. Growing flowers once became a form of therapy for Ms. Halyna, and eventually they blossomed on her canvases as well, transforming into emotional symbols of vitality, inner freedom, and the ability to bloom against all odds.
Halyna Kukhar is an artist, lecturer, and poet born in Ivano-Frankivsk. Her artistic practice spans various fields of visual art and decorative arts, ranging from graphic art, gouache, watercolour, and oil painting to window and event displays, interior décor, furniture customisation, and upcycling, which has gradually become an important part of her creative philosophy.
For Halyna Kukhar, art is not confined to a particular technique or material. She freely combines different forms of creative expression, discovering new possibilities in familiar objects and giving them a new voice. Poetry is another dimension of her artistic practice; she writes under the pen name Lika Vorto.
We invite you to visit the exhibition!
