Women’s Bike Parade

On Saturday, August 30, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted its traditional Women’s Bike Parade, held for the 13th time. This year, participants voted for the Gothic style, so most arrived at the starting point dressed in black, with some even wearing high heels.

As in previous years, the route led from the square of the Bastion gallery to the Shevchenko Park. The event also carried a charitable mission — raising funds for a local cycling activist who is now serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Event organizer Maryana Vershynina, head of the NGO “Mothers of Prykarpattia” and founder of the women’s club “Vershyn,” emphasized that the bike parade shows that cycling is not only about sports or training, but also about beauty and femininity. At the same time, participants urge to develop a modern and safe cycling infrastructure in the city.
